The first cold mornings tend to expose the gaps at home: a bathroom geyser that takes too long, a kitchen tap that runs icy while you wash dishes, and a craving for fried snacks that winter makes harder to resist. To help you choose the best geyser for winter, and a lighter way to make those snacks, we looked at storage geysers, instant geysers and air fryers and picked two of each from Amazon.in. Every model below was in stock with a rating of 4 stars or more when we checked on 24 October 2026. Prices and stock change often, so check the listing before you buy.

Storage or instant: which geyser do you need?
A storage geyser heats a tank of water, usually 10 to 25 litres, and keeps it warm. It suits bathrooms where someone needs a full bucket or a shower. An instant geyser holds only 1 to 6 litres and heats it quickly with a more powerful element, usually 3,000 watts. It suits kitchens and wash basins, where you need a steady trickle of warm water rather than a full bath. For a family bathroom, 15 litres is a sensible middle size.
Storage geysers
AO Smith SDS-GREEN-015 (15 litres)
This 15 litre vertical geyser uses a 2,000 watt element and a glass-lined tank, carries a 5 star BEE rating, and is rated for up to 8 bar of water pressure, which matters in high-rise buildings fed by pressure pumps. The warranty covers the inner tank for seven years and the whole unit for two.
It costs more than most 15 litre models, but it has a long track record on Amazon, with more than 12,000 ratings averaging 4.4. It is a good fit for an apartment bathroom used by two to four people.

Racold Buono Pro NXG (15 litres)
Racold’s 15 litre model also uses a 2,000 watt element and has a 5 star rating. Its tank has a titanium enamel coating and a magnesium anode to slow corrosion, and PUF insulation helps the water stay warm for longer once heated. Safety comes from three layers: a thermostat, a separate cut-out and a pressure safety valve.
At about two thirds of the AO Smith’s price, it is the value pick for a family bathroom. Its ABS outer body does not rust, which helps in humid bathrooms.

Instant geysers
V-Guard Zio (5 litres)
The Zio has a 3,000 watt copper-sheathed element and a 304 grade stainless steel tank, and is rated for 6.5 bar. V-Guard lists four safety layers: a pressure release valve, a thermostat that cuts power above 55°C, a separate overheat cut-off and anti-siphon protection to stop water flowing back.
Five litres gives you a little more headroom than the common 3 litre size, which helps if you wash a sink full of utensils at once. The tank carries a five year warranty and the product two years.

It suits a kitchen or a guest bathroom basin, and comes with a moulded three pin plug, so check that your socket point can take it. Havells covers the inner tank for five years and the whole unit for two.

Air fryers
An air fryer circulates very hot air around food, so pakoras, fries and tikkis crisp up with a spoonful of oil instead of a kadhai full of it. That makes it a lighter way to enjoy winter snacks, though what you cook still matters more than how you cook it. Around 4.5 to 5 litres suits a family of three to four.
COSORI CAF-L501 (4.7 litres)
This 1,500 watt air fryer has a touch panel with nine presets and reaches up to 230°C, and it comes with a recipe booklet. It is one of the most reviewed air fryers on Amazon.in, with nearly 35,000 ratings averaging 4.6.
At 4.7 litres it handles snacks for three or four people in one or two batches. The warranty is two years.

What to check before you buy
- Look for the ISI mark on any geyser, and have it installed by a trained technician with proper earthing.
- Check your water pressure. If your building uses a pressure pump, choose a geyser rated for at least 6.5 bar.
- Do not keep a storage geyser on all day. Switch it on about 20 minutes before use. The star rating only helps if the heater is not left running.
- Avoid gas geysers in closed bathrooms. They need good ventilation, which is one reason electric models are the safer choice for most flats.
- Mind the power load. A 3,000 watt instant geyser and a 1,500 watt air fryer on the same circuit can trip older wiring, so ask an electrician if your home is not used to heavy appliances.
