Elsepost is an independent publication covering technology, lifestyle and travel. This policy sets out the standards for how we research, publish, update and correct our stories.
Editorial responsibility
Elsepost Desk is our shared editorial byline and the point of responsibility for the publication. It identifies the editorial desk, rather than an individual reporter. You can read more on our About page and author page. Editorial questions and correction requests should be sent to hello@elsepost.com.
How we research and verify stories
We prioritise original documents and primary sources, including official product documentation, support pages, public records, research papers and information from the organisations responsible for a service or destination. We link to sources that support the important factual claims in a story so readers can examine the evidence.
A company announcement is evidence of what the company says, rather than independent proof of performance. We attribute such claims and distinguish them from findings established through testing or other reporting. When reliable sources disagree, we explain the uncertainty rather than presenting an assumption as fact.
Before publication, facts such as names, dates, specifications and instructions should be checked against the relevant source. Prices, availability, transport arrangements and visitor rules can change. Where these details matter, we identify the provider or official information readers should check before acting. We do not invent quotes, interviews, sources, test results or personal experiences.
Guides, reviews and firsthand experience
Our explainers and guides may be based on documented research without a product test or a visit to the destination. We do not describe that work as firsthand reporting. A review or account of an experience should state what was tested or visited, the relevant conditions and any important limits.
News, analysis, opinion and sponsored material should be identified clearly when published. Headlines, excerpts and images must accurately reflect what the story contains.
AI tools and illustrations
We use AI tools to assist with research organisation, drafting and editing. AI output is not a source of evidence: factual claims must be checked against identifiable sources, and editorial responsibility remains with Elsepost Desk.
Our first edition includes AI assisted drafts and original digital illustrations. Its travel guides are based on source research and do not claim visits by a reporter. Conceptual artwork is labelled as illustration and must not be presented as a photograph of a real event, product test or destination. Material synthetic imagery should be disclosed where it appears.
Updates and changing information
We review stories when reliable new information, a reader report or a material change brings an issue to our attention. We do not promise that every guide is monitored continuously. The original publication date remains visible. A substantive revision should carry an updated date and, where needed, an editor’s note explaining the change.
We do not change publication dates simply to make older work appear new. Routine spelling, formatting or link repairs may be made without a separate correction note.
Corrections and reader complaints
If you believe a story contains an error, email hello@elsepost.com with the subject line Correction request. Include the article link, the statement you believe is wrong and any supporting evidence. You can also use our Contact page.
We assess correction requests against the available evidence. When we establish a material factual error, we correct the article and add a dated correction note explaining what was wrong and what changed. A clarification should be labelled when the facts are accurate but the original wording was unclear. Significant changes must not be hidden as routine edits.
If an article has a fundamental problem that cannot be resolved through correction, we may withdraw it and provide an explanatory notice where appropriate. A complaint or request from a commercial partner does not by itself justify removing accurate reporting.
Independence and commercial disclosures
Commercial relationships must not determine our editorial findings. If we publish affiliate links, sponsorship, paid placements, supplied review products or hosted travel, we will disclose the relevant relationship clearly in the affected story. An affiliate link may earn Elsepost a commission if a reader makes a purchase.
Any future sponsored content must be visibly labelled and distinguishable from independent editorial work. These standards do not imply that such commercial arrangements are currently active. Our Terms and disclaimer provide further context.
Original work and respectful reporting
We write in our own words, credit the work of others and use quotations only with accurate attribution and appropriate context. Images and other material must be our own, licensed for use or used with permission. We respect privacy and avoid publishing personal information that is unnecessary to the story.
This policy will be reviewed as Elsepost develops. Questions about these standards can be sent to hello@elsepost.com.
