Garena says Free Fire India is available to download from October 28, 2026, as a free standalone app for Android and iOS. The India edition brings locally relevant events alongside parental consent requirements, break reminders, playtime limits and spending caps.

The publisher’s launch announcement also confirms a Diwali campaign running until November 15. It says the game has been optimised for a broad range of smartphones, without providing minimum device specifications in that announcement.

Free Fire India download and availability

Players can use the Google Play and App Store links provided through Garena’s official India channels. The Google Play listing identifies the Android app as Free Fire India, published by Garena International III, with in app purchases.

On Android, open the official listing and check the publisher before choosing the installation option available for your account and device. On iPhone, use the App Store link on Garena’s announcement. A listing’s visibility does not establish that every device or region has identical availability.

Garena’s FAQ says players can buy diamonds with real money for characters and items. The free download therefore does not mean every item inside the game is free.

Gameplay and the Diwali campaign

The Android listing describes survival matches involving 50 players, with players collecting weapons and trying to remain inside the safe zone. It also lists squads of up to four players with voice chat and a separate 4v4 Clash Squad mode.

Garena says India focused events will reflect local cultures and communities, starting with the Diwali campaign. Its release announcement does not give a complete reward list, so specific bundles or promotional gifts should be checked against the live event information.

Parental consent and spending controls

Garena’s announcement lists parental consent for players under 18, regular break reminders, playtime limits and spending caps. It does not specify the exact numerical limits in the launch release.

The official FAQ says users under 18 registering for Free Fire India need to provide a parent or guardian’s mobile number for OTP verification. It also directs families to Apple and Google settings for managing app access and purchases.

Device support and esports plans

Elsepost has not tested the launch build. Garena’s optimisation claim should not be read as a benchmark result or a guarantee of performance on a particular handset. Our phone battery care guide explains how to review app usage during longer sessions.

Garena says it will work with partners on Indian esports opportunities spanning grassroots and collegiate competitions through international participation. The announcement does not name a tournament schedule, qualification format or prize pool.
