Vivo will launch the Y600, a mid-range phone with a 10,000mAh battery, in China on 30 October, with pre-orders opening on 26 October. Vivo has not said whether the phone will come to India, and it has not announced a price yet.
The battery is the headline. Vivo says the Y600 can last up to two days on a charge. It also says the phone ran a livestream for 32 hours and 37 minutes in a test on 11 August, which Vivo presents as a Guinness World Record.
What we know so far
Vivo has confirmed the battery, the launch date and a 50MP main camera. Most of the other details come from the phone’s listing in China Telecom’s device database, under the model number V2607A, as reported by GSMArena:
- Display: 6.83 inches
- Processor: MediaTek Dimensity 7300e
- Memory: 6GB RAM with 128GB or 256GB storage, and 8GB RAM with 256GB storage
- Cameras: 50MP main camera on the back
- Battery: 10,000mAh
- Software: Android 16 with OriginOS 6
- Size and weight: 163.9 x 76.5 x 8.59mm, 224g
The figures for the selfie camera do not agree. The carrier listing shows an 8MP front camera, while GSMArena’s spec page lists 32MP, the same as the closely related Vivo V80 Lite. We will update this once Vivo publishes the full specifications.
A familiar phone with a new name
The Y600 looks like a lightly changed version of phones Vivo already sells. The V80 Lite, launched in Malaysia in September, and the Vivo S2 FE use the same processor and battery size. The V80 Lite also has a 6.83-inch 120Hz AMOLED screen, an IP68 and IP69 rating for dust and water, and 44W wired charging. Vivo has not confirmed those features for the Y600, but it would not be a surprise if they carried over.
The bigger battery adds weight: at 224g, the Y600 is on the heavy side for a mid-range phone. At under 8.6mm, though, it is not unusually thick.
Will it come to India?
Not yet confirmed. Vivo often sells phones in different countries under different names and with changed specifications, so a China launch tells us little about India. If an Indian version is announced, its 10,000mAh battery would be its main selling point.
For now, Indian buyers who want long battery life will have to choose from phones already on sale here. We will report the China prices after the 30 October launch, and any news of an India launch.
