IFFI 2026 dates and what is planned
News On AIR reported that the first steering committee meeting was held on 21 August in New Delhi. It was chaired by Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Dr L. Murugan. The official report says the plan includes more masterclasses and mentorship for students and emerging filmmakers.
The festival is organised by the National Film Development Corporation, and Goa has hosted it since 2004. So expect the usual mix of screenings, conversations and industry events across the week.
How to register as a delegate
The festival’s FAQ page explains the process. First, create or log in to a MyIFFI account. Then open the Registrations tab, choose Delegate and pick a category. After you submit the form, you wait for a confirmation email.
Payment comes only after you are accepted. Fees are non-refundable and non-transferable, and cash is not taken at the venue. You can pay online by net banking or card, or use an offline challan at an HDFC bank branch.
What the pass costs and covers
For the 2025 edition, film professionals and cine enthusiasts each paid ₹1,180 with GST. Student delegates paid nothing and got four tickets a day. Because the 2026 fee has not been confirmed in the pages we checked, treat these as last year’s figures.
Also note that delegate passes do not cover everything. The opening and closing ceremonies have been invite-only, according to one festival guide. Screenings are booked through the festival app, so book early for popular titles.
