Apple has brought the iPad mini OLED India model to its online store, with sales starting on 6 November. Also, the new iPad mini swaps the old LCD for an 8.5 inch OLED screen and adds a faster chip. However, the starting price is also higher than last year.
Quick answer

- Chip: Apple A20 Pro, with an IP67 dust and water rating
- Price: starts at ₹82,900 for 128 GB Wi-Fi
- Pre-orders opened on 28 October; sales start on 6 November
- Colours: Midnight and Starlight
What the iPad mini OLED India launch changes
The biggest change is the screen. Apple’s India page confirms an 8.5 inch OLED display, and says the tablet is available from 6 November. So OLED usually means deeper blacks and better contrast than the LCD in older minis.
Also new is the A20 Pro chip. According to a Beebom report on the launch, Apple claims up to 60 percent faster multithreaded CPU performance than the last model. However, graphics are claimed to be 2.7 times faster. So the tablet should feel quicker for editing, drawing and games.
Moreover, the body is now IP67 rated, which helps against splashes and dust. Still, it is only 5.4 mm thick. Connectivity moves to Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6, and cellular models get eSIM support. Touch ID stays, and the tablet works with Apple Pencil Pro.
iPad mini price in India by variant
First, prices below come from Beebom’s launch coverage, which matches the starting figure reported elsewhere. Apple’s own India page did not show a price when we checked it, so confirm on the store before you buy.
| Variant | Standard glass | Nano-texture |
|---|---|---|
| 128 GB Wi-Fi | ₹82,900 | Not offered |
| 128 GB Wi-Fi + Cellular | ₹1,00,900 | Not offered |
| 256 GB Wi-Fi | ₹94,900 | ₹1,06,900 |
| 256 GB Wi-Fi + Cellular | ₹1,12,900 | ₹1,24,900 |
| 512 GB Wi-Fi | ₹1,18,900 | ₹1,30,900 |
| 512 GB Wi-Fi + Cellular | ₹1,36,900 | ₹1,48,900 |
Is the higher price worth it?
Then note that the base model costs ₹13,000 more than the previous iPad mini, which started at ₹69,900. Beebom attributes the jump to rising memory costs. So that is a big step for a small tablet.
Still, the extra money buys a new screen, a faster chip and water resistance. If you mainly read, watch videos or take notes, the older model may be enough while stocks last. But if you want a pocketable tablet for drawing, travel and offline films, the OLED upgrade is real.
Also, the nano-texture finish is only on the 256 GB and 512 GB models. It reduces glare, so it also suits bright rooms and train windows. For everyone else, standard glass is the cheaper pick.
